Soil Amendments |
Since problem soils require special treatment, there's the Soil Amender, a dark black compost based soil amendment. When adequate amounts are added to sandy soils, the water holding capacity and the ability to retain and release vital nutrients is significantly improved. When Soil Amender is added to clay soils, soil compaction is reduced. In addition, rooting depth is increased, and water absorption and aeration are improved. Nutrients from Soil Amender will supply both immediate, and slow release nutrition and millions of beneficial soil microbes that are critical to healthy plant and lawn soils.
Soil Amender is also ideal for river sand as a replacement for mushroom manure. It is easier to handle, and its light weight reduces trucking and labour costs. In addition, it can be blown up steep slopes or hard to access areas. Due to its high levels of available nutrients, Soil Amender is best used when mixed with sand or native soils. The ratio of mixes are adjusted for the end use and existing native soil characteristics. In our composting process Soil Amender is naturally heated to more than 55C to destroy weeds and weed seeds. |

Composted Topsoil |
| These are compost based topsoils specifically designed for all lawn and garden bed requirements. Lawn & Garden Soils are available in two main blends: The Garden Blend, a general use soil, and the Lawn and Turf Blend, used mainly for sodding, seeding and topdressing of lawns and turf. The main components of Lawn & Garden Soils are: compost, organic and inorganic nutrients, and river sand. Organic matter contains, and stimulates the growth of millions of beneficial soil microbes critical to healthy soil and plants. Lawn & Garden Soils contribute to a clean job site and are easy to work with, even in our wettest coastal weather. The light weight of the composted soil reduces trucking and labour costs. Lawn & Garden Soils are produced through the same weed destruction process as our Soil Amender. |
